FOUNTAINS MALL TAR STAGE

 

STAGE 1 STARTS AT 10:00; STAGE 5 STARTS AT 12:45; STAGE 6 START AT 13:40 AND STAGE 9 AT 15:55

Algoa Rally club would like to thank Fountains Mall for hosting the Algoa Rally for the 4th consecutive year. We will be running 4 tar stages with live commentary and digital timing systems at Fountains Mall. This 1.03km stage which is a very technical stage is always a challenge and highlight for both drivers and navigators.


While the cars move on to the gravel stages the Supa Quick Interschool trolley race will run in the Fountains Mall car park. The school with the most entries stand a chance to win prize money of R5000,00 sponsored by Heinesport. The proceeds from this event will be ploughed back into the community as each school had to submit a wish list and stand a chance of receiving some or all of the items on these lists. There are PLENTY other prizes to be won and entertainment for the children and adults alike.

 

GRAVEL STAGES:

 

M2 RALLY SPORT STAGE (KABELJOUS)

 

STAGE 2 START AT 10:30 AND STAGE 7 AT 14:10

Zero Odo @ Circle coming out of Fountains Mall joining St Francis Drive going into Jeffreys Bay and turn left towards N2. At Big traffic circle (Water fountain) take 3rd exit (Kabeljous) R102 towards Port Elizabeth

Continue on R102 for 4.8km and Turn left at (Pottery Padstal) Kabeljous / Smithtown board

Proceed with road onto Gravel road past Palazzo sign board at Cob Creek keep on main road to your far left

Start of stage 2 & 7 is just past the buildings on your RHS. Park vehicles on RHS and LHS of road and proceed into the stage by foot. Please take care not to exit stage while stage is running.

The M2 Rally Sport Stage will be running from Kabeljous through to Zuurbron. This is a fast flowing stage with a traitorous mountains pass ending with high speed corners and straights running through farm gates.

 

DKP SPARES STAGE (HANKEY TO MELON)

 

STAGE 3 START AT 11:05 AND STAGE 8 AT 14:45

Return to R102 at padstal and turn left towards Port Elizabeth.

Continue on R102 past Mondplaas to the old Gamtoos bridge on the way to the Ferry hotel. Take turnoff to your towards Ferry Hotel (see board) and continue with this road till you cross a railway line and get to a crossroad. Turn left and continue on this road till you get to Spekboom Lapa; turn right into Spekboom Lapa. A map will be available inside indicating the various spectator points in the area for both the DKP spares stage as well as the Spekboom Lapa stage.

DKP Spares start from Hankey side beginning and ending along the Gamtoos river. The stage runs into the mountains making for a very technical section before coming down into the Gamtoos Valley crossing fields several times to end across the road from Spekboom Lapa.

 

SPEKBOOM LAPA STAGE    

       

STAGE 4 START AT 11:40

Watch the rally form the deck at Spekboom Lapa while enjoying some refreshment. (They are running a special on home-grown fresh fruit and veggies)

This is a short and dynamite stage with high danger points and some water and mud splashes. Concentration will be needed on this stage from both driver and navigator to negotiate this quick and intricate route.
